I am a software engineer with at least 10 years experience in software development, systems support, project management and technology architecture.
My passion for software and using software as a tool in businesses has allowed me to push beyond limits of a typical developer and rise to address the disconnect between business and technology across multiple industries.
I have built and maintained solutions in the SMME, telecommunications, banking, insurance, transportation and media sectors.
I am from a country-side town in the south of Gauteng called Vereeniging in South Africa. I completed my Bachelors degree in Information Technology at the University of North West – Vaal Campus in 2010 with Java and C# programming, Systems Analysis and Design, Databases, Networking, and Web Development as my core modules.
My career started at Standard Bank South Africa in February 2011, which has seen me progress into a lot of roles and opportunities to this day.
My mission in life is simple. That is, to make as much impact as possible where possible. I pride myself in doing things right the first time, that way there is more time to do more things right. Of course that is not always the outcome, but it sets the right tone and attitude before getting into any sort of thing.
My one project that aligns with this mission is the Dynamic Component. Created and implemented by myself. With this project, software technology no longer becomes a huge burden (or a high-value cost center, as business would say), but rather a quick solution to problems around automation, data collection, business intelligence, and integration. Imagine a tool that allows business to create a robust system within a month, just from a click of a button, and at worst case, 1 or 2 developers to help guide them through the jargon. That is the impact that the Dynamic component makes, and it is a perfect example of what I intent to leave as a legacy in this world.
